Hello Everyone! I didnt let 2011 go without any last minute makeup splurge, and I decided Id spend my moolah on the UD Book of Shadows IV. It was not on my wishlist, but I'm pretty sure you gals (or guys) know where I'm coming from when it comes to impulse buy on cosmetics ;)

This is my very first BOS ever. Couple months prior to buying this, I have been debating whether to get it or not. For $64 dollars, I just don't think I can spend my money on a palette that I'd probably would barely use. Most of the time when it comes to eyeshadows, I prefer buying single eyeshadows (MAC or NYX) and if I had to buy palettes Id get something off coastal scents or ebay. But when I saw they dropped the price to $45 dollars, I'm like "oh well effed it, it doesnt hurt to try..just your wallet (lol)" So I gave in and got it.

Now, Im not going to do swatches or tell you guys what else is in included since I'm pretty sure there are a million blog posts and youtube videos sharing these information to you guys.

Overall, I'm not quite impressed by this palette at all. I can't make any contrast to any previous BOS since like I said earlier, this is my very first BOS. I appreciate the effort on the design but I think its overdone and its not quite creative. I understand they tried to be innovative by including this speaker but really its all gimmick. My phone speaker does a better job than that thing!

The palette is split with neutral and bold colors. Another disappointing thing is the color payoff on some of these shadows. Blue Bus, such a pretty unique color, yet IMO is too sheer. Hijack is another beautiful color...if you want to use this as a lid color it would turn out great, however, you decide to use this as a crease color..I noticed that the color would rather look "washed-out" if you don't use a primer with a tinted shade. , I believe if my memory served me right was introduce in the 15th anniversary palette, (correct me if I'm wrong) is probably my least favorite one...horrible glitter fall out, my wet-n-wild one can do better than that! Not all eyeshadows are disappointing.. I personally love Bender, Lost, Sin, Zephyr; texture and color pay-off wise, those 3 eyeshadows are great!

LOVE the 24/7 Eyeliner in Perversion! Its waterproof, but if you make a boo2x, its fixable. Haven't tried the mascara yet. And of course the classic UDPP in a smaller size tube is included.

Used the neutrals from the palette as of now.. Im kinda boring lol

Its not a bad palette, however, definitely not worth the hype. Is it worth the money? Not really. If this was on sale for 30 dollars or something could be, but not for $64 nor $45. I guess I'm cheap lol. But really, save your money and invest on a better palette than this.

Hello everyone! First post of the year..yay! I want to greet everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR! I know I know, kinda late.. but its better than never right? I kind of what to start the year by doing a review since its been forever since my last one. Let's get it on!

I have once again been contacted by Misikko to do another review for their product. Working with them has been pleasant and I'm not saying this because I get to do a review for a product but I am speaking from experience; it's been so far amazing. I'm so glad to be given once again an opportunity to do another review from them and this time its one of their top sellers which is the Hana Professional Flat Iron 1".

Misikko is an online store that offers a variety of professional hair products such as professional hair straighteners, curling irons, flat irons etc. They offer top notch products such as HANA products, CHI flat irons, etc.

Le Product

The product itself is very lightweight. Has a very nice grip that wont slip through your hands. The cord swivels 360 degrees so you can style your hair effortless.

The flat iron has 2 settings.. On/Off switch and of course the temperature setting. The temperature dial can adjust from 140-450 degrees F. Once you turn on the product, you will notice the red light on top solid. Indicator that the product is ready to be use is when the light starts blinking or flickering. This flat iron heats in about 40 seconds! Now that's freakin fast! Very ideal for people like me who always rushing, and it don't matter what temperature you set it in.

My thoughts:

I have used several professional hair flat irons in the past, but what makes flat iron stand up among all the ones i've used is how light weight yet sturdy this product is. TRUE STORY- I used this product one morning before going to work. Little did I know, I forgot to turn off the item O_O I came back to see it was still ON on top of the heat proof silicone mat, and still working perfectly fine after 8 hours! At first I thought "that's it, this product is busted already" to my surprise its still working fine and I'm just sooo glad I used the silicone mat to put this item on or else my carpet would've been toasted already!

Like I said earlier, its very lightweight and easy to maneuver. It glides very smoothly on your hair, there is this no "gritty", kinda like "frying" sound or feeling when you run it down your hair-- that's when you can tell its a high quality flat iron. The plates are made out of ceramic tourmaline, that prevents the hair from being "static-y" and frizzy after use. My hair is color treated and it never affected the color whatsover. What I love about it too is how this cuts down the time to get my hair straightened. Having a thick, frizzy hair..it takes forever to straighten it... I find myself running the iron just once or twice max down my hair and its all good!

Does not have an automatic turn off if item has been on for several hours (as much as I like the fact that even if its ON for 8 hrs based on my experience, I still would prefer my product having this feature because if it wasn't for the silicone mat, this could burn my carpet or whatever surface it is on)

I Started My New Year's Resolution 2 Months Earlier...

18 lbs lost since October 2011. Eeyup, didn't think it was possible ;)

I'm still debating whether to share my weight loss experience to my readers. I mean I know this is a cosmetic/beauty blog when I start off, but again, it's my blog and I can do whatever I want to it. HA!

This whole weightloss in a nutshell: I gained a TREMENDOUS amount of weight in 2010 as soon as I graduated from Nursing School. How much weight we're talking about? 30 lbs. I knew I gained weight but didn't know how MUCH I gained weight. The turning point for me was when I saw this picture and calculated my BMI for my weight and height... found out I was overweight. I was depressed and knew had to do something. Believe me it was a struggle at the beginning, but kept going. And when you start seeing results, its beyond motivating.

I want to greet Belated Merry Christmas to All of You my readers and Advance Happy New Year! Work on those goal for 2012! Do you have any already?

I'm glad to work with John once again for another review from their online store. If you have been following my blog for a while I did make a review for Misikko a couple months ago.

Misikko is an online store that offers a variety of professional hair products, such as blow dryers, flat irons, hair care products etc. They offer top of the line products such as HANA and so much more.

I'm going to do a review on the Hana Shine Shield Black Label. If you have read my previous review on the Hana Air Premier Dryer, I actually did a brief review on this product already. Let me go ahead and introduce once again this product :)

Hana Shine Shield Black Label

Product Features according to the Brand:

"HANA Shineshield BLACK LABEL provides the ultimate shine for your hair in an all new alcohol-free oil treatment after just one use. Named *Product of the Year*, HANA Shineshield BLACK LABEL seals and locks in 98% of the moisture in your hair to deliver a deep hydrating condition. You will see the immediate difference in the look of your hair and also feel the sleek and silky touch. This product unlike its competitors can be used on all hair types to create any style."

Basically this product is a leave-in treatment, which supposed to help restore, strengthens, and protect hair from everyday stress (heat from dryer/iron, UV rays etc) One key component of this product is Jojoba oil, which is known to have very good moisturizing properties. The product not only moisturizes, but can also naturally dissolve residue from styling products that could be trap in your hair as well as bring out the natural color tones of your hair.

Directions: Apply a small amount of the serum to your palm, massage it, and apply it to your hair from roots to ends. Can be applied wet or dry.

For reference, I have thick,frizzy, color treated hair at the moment. I usually use a nickel size of the product and apply it 2 inch from roots to ends. The product comes out clear and has that serum consistency. Let me tell you how I love the smell of this product! It smells so good, and like I said before, it smells like you came out of a spa treatment! The product may have a serum consistency but its not greasy at all. The hair quickly absorbs the product and is not just laying on top of the hair.

Before I used this product, every after drying my hair with a blow drying I always had to use a flat iron to get rid of the frizziness of my hair. Since using this product for awhile now, I have not used my flat iron at all. I love how my hair looks a lot healthier and shiny, but the best part is how SOFT this product made my hair. This product has not made my hair color fade nor did it made it better. But I love how I can run my fingers through my hair without having problems with de-tangling it :)

PROS:

-Non-greasy

- Quickly absorbs by the hair (does not stay on hair as if its just laying on top of its surface)

-Smells terrific!

-Only need a small amount of the product (last for a long time!)

-Hair feels soft and not "tangly" afterwards

-Hair looks healthier and shinier

CONS:

-Not readily available

-Did not improve hair color (could possibly be because my hair is color-treated)

-Using too much of product could look greasy on people with naturally oily hair

I have fell in love with this product and has become a staple of mine since first trying it out back in May. This product is a must for those of you who have very frizzy, dry, uncontrollable hair like mine. A full size bottle will last you FOREVER. Like I said, you just need a tiny amount of the product for it to work its wonders on your hair.

I will do another Misikko review in the near future with another product, so stay tuned for that!

Lust for LUSH

Hello love ones! Christmas is just around the corner! This is also the time of the year where I overly pampered myself with long hours of relaxing,unwinding, submerging goodness. Its LUSH time again! If you have been following my blog for awhile now, you pretty much know how OBSESSED I am with LUSH.

Although I've been using a couple of LUSH products in a day-to-day basis, I haven't really treated myself with bath bombs and bubble bars that much. I find myself really getting into it around this time of the year? Why?..Who knows. All I know is that I need to stock up more of their CHRISTMAS EVE BUBBLE BAR before they go out of stock again!

Just want to share with you guys what I got from LUSH couple weeks ago.

Christmas Eve and Pop In The Bath Bubble Bars

The VERY reason why I went to visit LUSH in the beginning is because I want to stock myself some Christmas Eve bubble bars. This probably my favorite bubble bar EVER. Unfortunately, its a holiday item and that can only get it during the time of this year :( I was looking to get more of it (about 10..no kid) but came to the store a bit late and had only these 2 left to take home (yea..its that popular) I'm also happy at the fact that the "Moon" is already embedded inside the bubble bar itself, rather sitting on top of it.

I finally got my hands on the Pop In The Bath bubble bar. LOVE IT! It smells exactly my all time favorite shower gel :)

Blackberry and Butterball Bath Bombs

My all time favorite Bath bomb, which is the Blackberry, goes VERY well with Christmas Eve bubble bar. Since I'm trying to stock myself with Christmas Eve BBs, I need to stock myself some Blackberry BBs as well lol. Picked up the Butterball Bath Bomb, which is a bit smaller than the usual bath bomb size, since I love the smell and it seems like it can go well with pretty much any bubble bar I can mix it with.

Tea Tree Water Toner, The Olive Branch, Dream Cream

I picked up a couple skin essentials. I LURRVE The Olive Branch Shower gel and this is my 4th bottle ever! If you have read my LUSH reviews in the past, I have talked about the Dreamwash which is pretty much a life-saver for me during this time of the year. So I went ahead and want to try the Dream Cream this time, which is the lotion equivalent of the Dreamwash. Last one that I picked up, which honestly I hesitated at the beginning on getting, is the Tea Tree Water Toner. According to SA, its a toner ideal for oily and troubled skin and has some antibacterial properties to prevent breakin out. It doesn't hurt to try, although I've had some doubts already when it comes to LUSH skincare line after I broke out using one of their masks. :-/

Snowglobe soap

Have been neglecting the soap department as well, I picked up this new item from the holiday collection. I'm a big fan of anything smelling zesty or citrusy, this is one of them! I can't wait to try this soon.

Last but not least, I got drawn to LUSH's gift wrapped items once again. Last year, I gave out LUSH gift items to my coworkers...its just irresistible! This year, LUSH is pulling a Willy Wonka gimmick in which they put "Golden tickets" on these gift wrapped items and you get to win fab prizes! I got this gift item called "A few of my Favourite things" which I will be giving to one of my best friend who is getting into LUSH thanks to the influence of yours truly.

She better like this lol. I mean.. how could you NOT?

I know I know.. I'm such a bad, bad, bad, blogger. I'm sure you're all sick of hearing me saying I'll update my blog as often as I can. Why can't I do this? :(

I just want to say to all my lovely readers a Happy (Belated) Thanksgiving!

So many things I'm thankful for and I can't even jot them down one by one. God is great! Let's all count our blessings and be happy with what we have, we all know that a lot of people out there had far worse situations than us. Be thankful not just today, but everyday :)

I made turkey for the second time! Tedious process, but well worth it! Pardon the garnished, I'm not that creative lol.

Feeling a bit nerdy today. Didn't feel like putting makeup lol. Rocking the YSL Rouge Volupte #3 (Ultimate Beige) on my lips ;)

I went to the midnight Black Friday sale and didn't get much. I got a couple of stuff from Nike and just a wallet from Coach, I'm not a good shopper for bargain trust me..I'm not that patient haha.

Fall Haul + Recent Shenanigans

Hello Love Ones! Even though I've been very busy with work right now, I try to catch up with my "social life" but pretty much its been dead for a while (lolz) I'm such a loser. Anyways, I went shopping couple weeks ago gearing myself for fall. Here's what I got..

Forever 21 Haul! I got 2 tops, a random necklace, and a sling bag. I got tired bringin my big ass purses and I just want something I can dump my essentials (wallet, phone,keys) and I'm off just like that, pretty good size too.

(Left)I went to Payless and got these extremely comfy slip ons. I realized I got another grey colored item (other than the bag and the shirt) (Right) My Ugg boots needs to put to rest (had it with me for 4 years!) So I got me some new Ugg boots and I got the Bailey triple button. This time I got the care kit too so my Uggs would last longer : )

Lastly, I got myself some active gears from Nike. If you're following me on facebook, you pretty much know I'm trying to lose some weight. I've gained about 20 lbs in the last 2 years! (No kidding) Here's to a skinnier 2012! (Hopefully)

Speaaaaking of weightloss... I have so far lost 10.5 lbs! :) Physically, I don't see any difference (although a lot of people had complimented me about it) but I do feel a whole lot better on the inside and feel a lot less sluggish ;)

And to treat myself, I went to Chicago couple days ago to visit an Old friend to basically splurge on food (lol..ironic?)

Here's some food porn..

First stop, me and my friend went to check this new movie house called ICON movie Theater. They got some pretty sweet VIP seating..unfortunately there are only certain movies we can see with these seatings. So we decided to see Footloose lol.. even though we already know how lame and cheesy the remake is.

Prior to the viewing we went to the VIP lounge and chillax with some good food.

Margarita pizza... yumm!

And lastly we got some Bacon Popcorn. Omg.. best thing ever!

After our fantastic (sarcasm) movie.. we went to this place called Hot Chocolate for some warm,cozy drinks.

We ended up getting some desserts too (I told my friend I'd kill her if I gained 5 lbs after that night lol)

I got the "Black and Tan" chocolate drink. Mmmm

Chocolate Two Way Cake. I don't regret anything lol. Sooo good!

My Friend's Banana And Peanut Butter. We literally kept saying "Oh MY GOD!" for every bite.

The next day I went to downtown. Went to Burberry and fell in love with their rain slash snow boots.

Before leaving, I want to spend time with my uncle and grandma so we went to my very first brazillian bbq experience at Brazzaz.

How I Curl My Thick Hair (Achieving Loose Curls)

Hello Love Ones!

The other day, I was playing around with my new flat Iron that I got from our local mall. Instead of using it as a regular straightening iron, I decided to play around and use it as a curling iron.

Now, I don't curl my hair very often. Not that I don't like to curl my hair, but considering the texture and the volume of my hair..its really hard to curl it for some reason AND doesn't come out as I usually want it to look like. So what exactly am I talking about? I don't know if everyone who have a thick hair have the same problem as I do but when a person curls their hair, not only they want to achieve a different kind of hairstyle but also, part of it is to create an illusion of a more "volumize" hair. See if I have an already really thick hair, I'm adding more volume to my hair when I curl it causing it to,for some reason, not look as appealing as I want it to be. Like for example, I want just simply loose curls.... its hard to achieve this since for a thick hair, when you curl their hair, instead of it looking like its "flowing" and soft..it looks rather "cramp",stiff, and much puffy. I don't know, its just not appealing to me. What the heck am I talkin about.. I probably don't make sense to most of y'all but its rather an issue at least for me.

So..if you are reading this and you feel my pain, well.. I wanna share with you some of my tricks to better achieve a loose curl for a thick,semi-coarse, hair.

Ok first off, you need to invest on a really good flat iron. I'm using the Royale Professional Straightener Iron. I prefer to use a flat iron rather than a conventional curler because it curls faster. Plus, you need a straightener anyway if you have thick hair.

Now, before doing any curling to your hair... make sure that your hair is straight. We want to get rid of any natural waves we have just so we a more "proportional" strands to work on (easier if everything is straight rather than have some baby curls ya know)

I usually prefer straightening my hair the night before or at least couple hours before I curl it. If you curl it right away after you just straightened it,I noticed that its harder to create curls if there's still heat in your hair. Make sure you give sufficient time for hair to "cool down" from the heat off the flat iron.

I curl my hair going to only one direction, depends which side you're working at (right or left) and that is doing it AWAY from the face.

(Start from Upper Left Picture) 1) Take a small strand of hair (Don't take much because it may not curl as much as we would like to)..glide the flat iron halfway through the strand and stop 2) Rotate your iron in the direction where the bottom/half strand of hair is facing AWAY from your face. 3) Keep rotating until the whole iron is completely covered with your hair. Do only one rotation. Make sure your hair is not tightly winded around iron. 4) Slightly start pulling iron down the roots of the hair. It should curl just like how it shown in the picture.

Look whose back from the dead... *waves like a beauty pageant girl*

Oh my..I've neglected my blog for 2 months :( First of all I want to say I'm extremely sorry for being away for this long. (longest I've been gone) I didn't even realized its been THAT long since I post something on my blog (I thought i've only been gone for weeks,yikes!).

I have been really busy with my life the past 2 months. I know I've been saying that every time I'd go disappear from the face of the planet, but really I havent been this busy with so many things lately.

There's really nothing too significant that had happened the past few months..just me and my boo celebrated our 3 year anniversary already (^_^) and that I got into some drama in my workplace but that's about it. On another the bright side, I've had plans already of making my move out of state :) September marks my first year in my current workplace and I think its about time that I get out of the place and work in a different environment. Not that I have an enemy/enemies or something but I feel like my current workplace makes me feel "older" due to the fact that my stress level is always off the roof and that results to me fcking my sleep pattern, my energy level, mood etc. I know for the job I have stress is inevitable, but if I can lower my stress level related to work why not? Ive asked all the nurses that had an experience with my current job that went to another field "whats harder? working here or working at your new job", and they always tell me that working in my current place is a lot harder than where they at. But real talk, as much as this job is damn hard, I do love working with my patients. I work with geriatrics and pediatrics and its the best of both worlds. Id change a lot in the system of my workplace but I would not change anything about my clients, theyre great :)

Anyways, yes.. I do want to move out of Illinois. Especially winter is approaching;oh boy, I just can't tolerate cold weather very well sorry. I'm projecting my move is going to be either very late this year (kinda unlikely, but we never know) or early months of 2012 (more likely). Hope to get an employer that likes my resume.

Anywho, I will not promise anything this time of being able to update my blog more often. I will try my hardest. I hope to bear with me.

I just want to say to all my followers and readers a big THANK YOU for all the support and comments you had left every time I made a post. I don't want to give up blogging because I've met wonderful and i meant WONDERFUL people in here and want to meet more people and share the same interest that I have too.

I feel I need to wear something "flow-y" or "breezy", something that doesn't stick to my skin especially with all this heatwave thing going on in the midwest. What's a better get up than your granny's hippy top? Nah... just kidding. But seriously tho, my grandma gave this to me. Who would've thought I'd wear something my granny gave me for the first time. Props to you granny.

You can wear it on or off shoulder. Off shoulder is obviously trendier and sexier.

Chi-town Lovin Heavy Pics

Hey everyone! Just want to share with you guys my recent Chicago trip. I love Chicago. I may sound biased because I'm from Illinois but I love Chicago more than New York *runs and hides away*

Anyways, If you know me, you probably have an idea that I'm a big baseball fan..particularly the San Francisco Giants. I started getting into baseball 3 years ago because of my BF..whose the biggest sports buff I know. I'm a sports girl, I grew up very athletic..so anything sports related I'm on it!

I went to Chicago so I can watch the Giants go against the horrendous Cubbies. (I know I know, why on earth am I not cheering for the cubbies or the white sox when they're a Chicago team? Well.... why should I? Lol) Back in May when I went to SF to watch the Giants for the very first time at AT&T, I know from that point on that won't be the last. I LOVE AT&T park omg... such a great ballpark! Can't wait to see it again soon! Also, the Annual Taste Of Chicago is ongoing at that time. Total food galore!

So anyways, I'll let the picture talk for itself. Well..Imma put captions of course. Enjoy!

DAY 1- Cubs VS Giants

On our way to Chicago. This is my unique Giants Build-A-Bear teddy :) His name is Beary Bonds-Posey (YES.. after Barry Bonds)

Went directly to Wrigley Field to catch our noon time game.

Inside the famous historic ballpark

During batting practice, I had an amazing opportunity to get this close to my ever favorite giant player Pablo "PANDA" Sandoval and got his signature afterwards!!!

That scoreboard is older than your grandma (no kid) Since 1937, operated manually by people till this day.

Unfortunately, my Giants lost :((( Win or lose.... they still lead division :D and yes, cubs still suck.

After a long day, we finally checked in to The James Hotel. This hotel is the bomb diggity. My very first luxury boutique hotel and I'm very impress by their service! (Check my yelp review - first one) Bed extremely comfy, design sleek and modern, and complimentary Kiehl's bath products!

So what happens if you're under the sun for at almost 6 hours? You get toasted... and who knew i'd get tan lines on my feet?!? YES.. those are tan lines from my sandals. Funny, but not really. Lol. Nah I think its funny.

That night, the weather went crazy (thunderstorming and hella rain) so we had no choice but to stay in our hotel. Had room service for dinner... best room service so far! Been to several 4 and 5 stars hotel and none has come close to how good our dinner was. Sister had Grilled chicken sandwhich with asiago truffled fries, I had filet Mignon with mushrooms and basil whipped potato. I was on cloud 9 :))

DAY 2- Taste Of Chicago

Started our day with, what else, but food. Buttermilk pancakes with strawberries and smoked salmon bagel.

OOTD: Loose top,shorts,gold leaf necklace from F21, brown tank top from Old navy.

First time at Taste.

It was a pretty gloomy day, but thank God it didn't rain on us.

Food, Food, and MORE Freakin FOOD! We were sick in our stomachs afterwards. So many grubs unfortunately we can't try all of them since there are too many stands! But we're glad we made it and had a couple to try.

Of course, I won't leave Chi-town without getting anything.

Got 2 charms to add on to my juicy bracelet..nail polish and lipstick! OMG.. that is sooo US beauty junkies, that's why I got it ;) Also got a beach bag.. cuz its freakin summah ya know.

More damages. So happy to get my Olive Branch shower gel again ^_^

Hello everyone! Long time no post, been busy once again with work.

Just want to say a late Happy Father's Day greeting to all the wonderful dads out there! I didnt get to spend it so much with my dad since I had to work the night but we had a great time grillin and piggin out as usual ^^

My Very First Birchbox

Hello everyone. I just recently jumped into the Birchbox bandwagon since everyone seems to be talking about it here and there.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Birchbox, its basically a company that gives you monthly free deluxe samples from high end brands such as NARS, Kiehls, Stila, Korres etc in a box. A box usually have 4-5 items. You have 2 options to get your own samples-- either a yearly subscription (cost- $110) or a monthly subscription (cost-$10 per month) I chose the $10/month since I'm new to this. Whats good about the $10 a month sub is that you can cancel anytime.

I got my package on 6/10.. pretty early than what I expected. Was excited to see it on the mail...

A box in a box

As soon as I opened box, I noticed the item card to be stained..but didnt pay attention to it much. As soon as unfold the tissue, I was stun at what I saw

The Xen-Tan tube has exploded..and its all over to the one side of my box!!! My initial reaction was very displeased because this is my very first Birchbox ever! But I contacted the company right away and asked them what they want to do to resolve this.

After 2 days (2 days possibly because its the weekend?) I got an email from Loren and she said

"We're terribly sorry to hear that your Xen-Tan exploded in your box! We would absolutely send you replacement samples, however, we don't have any more left in our inventory. I've gone ahead and refunded you for this month's box, for which you should receive an email confirming this shortly."

And I got an email as well from the company, confirming my refund. Now that's good customer service right there. I've dealt with companies that has bad customer service and you know it is a good one when they won't even asked a thing or two and just right away offer something or refund your money, no questions ask. I replied back saying its ok if I don't get the samples, and I told them instead of giving me back my refund if they can just credit the $10 towards next months Birchbox since I would like to get another one.. unfortunately though they had already processed it. Oh wells, no biggie :)

Anyways, now lets see the rest of the items!

Despite the Xen-Tan explosion, I'm very pleased with my first Birchbox. I can't wait to try the Kiehl facial lotion as well! I'd read mixed reviews about it..people saying samples aren't really considered as deluxe since they're getting packets instead. I would like to see next month's box!

On The Spot: Hana Air Premier Hair Dryer Review (long review)

Hello everyone! For this post I am going to do a review on the Hana Air Premier Hair Dryer, courtesy of Misikko.com

I received an email from John of Misikko.com a month or so ago and kindly asked me if I would like to do a review on one of their products from their online store. I first heard of Misikko.com from Ren of Makeupbyrenren. They offer the best, top of the line hair styling tools such as hair straighteners and hair dryers.They even have hair products such as Biosilk, which i absolutely love, and of course CHI and more.

After I came back from my trip, I saw this package waiting on my bed.

When I opened the box, I swear it felt like opening a christmas present!!John included so many goodies,it was ridiculous!I appreciate a company who really put effort into making their customer feel special, they absolutely did for me.

Hana Air Proffesional Hair Dryer features:

What's included in the box?

Hair dryer, a concentrating nozzle,and a travel size Hana Shine Shield Thermal Protectant.

Lets take a look at the Hair Dryer's exterior...

I love the sleek look. The cord is VERY long, probably taller than me lol. I think its necessary to have a long cord for a hair dryer especially if you are using this in a salon. It has a nice grip by the handle,easy to use. A lot of people have said that this hair dryer is lightweight.. but I'm not sure if I fully agree to that. Perhaps I've had only used cheap hair dryers lol, but in my opinion its not lightweight. Its not heavy at all, but it's solid for the lack of better term as far as weight.

Now lets take a look at the controls. You don't see this very often on a regular hair dryer, but the Hana Air has 2 controls.. a fan speed control (above,blue) and heat control (below,red). Fan speed have 2 settings (low and high) while the heat control has 3 settings (no heat, low heat, high heat). Sounds pretty complicated but it isnt. And of course a cold shot button on the very top. Its nice to have a product that gives you a little bit more options to cater ones need.

Testing...testing...testing..

This is how I tested the product. I did a comparison between my old hair dryer and the Hana Air Premier Dryer. I did 3 test... a)dry my hair with my old hair dryer (which is the Perfection Euro 1600) alone b)dry my hair with Hana Air Premier Dryer alone c)dry my hair with Hana Air Premier Dryer WITH the Hana Shine Shield Thermal Protectant

The reason why I'm doing 2 test on the Hana Air dryer with and without the Shine Shield is because I want to know what the hair dryer itself is capable of. I might get great results if I use the hair dryer with the Shine Shield but which one is making the difference.. the hair dryer itself or the shine shield? Get it? Good.

For this experiment, I've used the same shampoo and conditioner, as well as the comb.

For reference: My hair is very thick,very dry, and frizzy prone. My hair is color-treated, which is why at times (especially during summer) I try not to completely dry my hair or else it will become "poofy" and gets a lot more drier. My hair is moderately long.

First test: Old hair dryer

This is my old hair dryer, which I got from big lots for $9 and has been with me for 4 years. Only has one setting-- off, low, and high heat.

RESULT

Total drying time = 24 minutes. Used the high heat setting.

As you can see closely, I have some frizziness going on. My hair is a little bit out of shape, and is poofy. As far as texture, my hair feels soft, I can run my fingers off my hair with minimal "tangling".

Second Testing: Hana Air Premier Hair Dryer

This testing like I mentioned before is only using the hair dryer alone, no leave in products yet.

As soon as I opened the fan speed setting, I was surprised how POWERFUL this thing is! The low fan speed is basically the equivalent of the high speed of any hair dryers I've used in the past. Quite surprisingly, the motor is not loud.

RESULT

Total dry time = 11 minutes! Its remarkable how this hair dryer cut down my usual drying time into half!I used low speed fan setting, with alternating low and high heat setting with a couple cold shots.

My hair is less frizzier than my old hair dryer. As you can see, it has more flattering shape to it compared to when I used my old hair dryer. As far as texture goes, I didnt see any difference compared to from my old hair dryer, and i still get some minimal "tangling" when I run my fingers through my hair.

Third Testing: Hana Air Premier Hair Dryer with Hana Shine Shield

The last testing involves the Hana Shine Shield Thermal Protectant that came with the Dryer in a travel size.

What this product features according to brand:

While my hair is still wet, I applied a nickel size on the palm of my hand; rubbed it with my 2 hands and evenly applied it all over my hair, putting as little as possible on my roots since its the area that it gets oily very easily. This product smells SOOO GOOD. Smells like you just got off a spa treatment! I can't describe the smell but its very light, not too overpowering.

RESULT

Total drying time = 12 minutes. It took more than to dry this time for some reason by a minute. My hair felt sooo soft and its has that glossy texture to it..this has to be the softest my hair has ever felt after being blown dry I'm not even joking.

I can run my fingers through my hair without any "tangling" at all. This is pretty impressive I must say! Considering I just colored my hair very recently, I am just "wow"-ed how the Shine Shield made such a big difference on my hair texture after being blown dry.

My thoughts on the Hana Air Premier Dryer

Overall its a really good hair dryer..I'm not greatly impressed by it, but its a really good one. The best thing about this dryer is how it cuts down the time for me to dry my hair..11 minutes, I have not dry my hair for that short amount of time in my life. Also the fact that this product gave you more options as far as heat setting and fan speed. I was expecting that this product would do something about the texture(as far as it being smooth and soft) of my hair as it is but unfortunately it didnt. It took out some of the frizziness which is a good thing though. The price.. its REALLY WAY expensive for my taste. I think it is a good investment though, especially if you are a hair stylist working on a salon..then this is a product that I would pretty much recommended. Otherwise, if you're just someone who just simple need something to blow your hair dry, then maybe this is not for you. If I'm darn rich, I would repurchasing this product again.

PROS:

-Cuts down drying time
-Powerful motor
- More options for heat and fan speed control
- Nice easy grip by the handle
- Sleek design
- Less frizziness

CONS:

-expensive
-didn't changed the texture of my hair as far as being soft or smooth
-may not be readily available for some places

My thoughts about the Hana Shine Shield Thermal Protectant:

This product exceeded my expectations. I thought this product is just any other thermal protectant but this has done more than that. Absolutely made the texture of my hair soft,smooth,shiny, and healthy looking despite me it being color treated. I can not emphasis more how this product is just great! And the smell... I can't get over it! It just smells really good. I would recommend this leave in treatment especially to those of you who has really dry,frizzy, unmanageable hair. For those of you who tend to have oily hair by the end of the day, I would say use this product in moderation as it can make your hair more greasy looking.

PROS:

-Makes a difference in the texture of my hair (soft,smooth,shiny)
- Smells really good
- Color-treated hair friendly :)
- No tangling

CONS:

-Not easily available in some places
-May look greasy on people who have oily hair already

Phew..I told you its going to be a long post lol. Im really sorry if its detailed. I really just want to share my experience with you guys. I would like to thank John for giving me the opportunity to review this product. He's is such a great guy considering I didn't get to reply on his first email after 3 weeks, yet he's still willing to send the product for review purposes. I got the product the product in less than 3 days after he notified me! This gives me an idea what customer service on Misikko is like.. they absolutely take care of the customers and make them feel satisfied. Thank you so much!

Stila's Stunning in Sayulita FOTD

Hello everyone! Stila launched their Beach Palettes this year and so far they have 2 palettes available for purchase on their website,sephora or ulta. There are 5 total palettes in this collection and every month, they will release a palette from the series.

I got the Stunning in Sayulita Palette from my mini SF trip last week from Ulta. I really didn't intend to buy this but when I saw the gorgeous colors, I feel I gotta try it. I've had a couple stila products in the past and they have a pretty decent eyeshadow selection..not a big fan tho, but they're decent.

Stunning in Sayulita is based from Katie Lee's (whose a famous food critic, but i guess more known for being Billy Joel's ex wifey) travel experience to this mexican getaway. This is the very first palette from the collection that was launched back in mid-april this year.

Palette includes 4 eyeshadows, a matte blush, and a semi frost-y highlighter. Names are shown at the back of the palette as pictured above.

Inside the palette.

Neat feature about this palette.. it includes a mirror as well as an instructions on how you can create a look using this palette.

From L to R- Green Palms, Getaway, Sandbar, and Starfish
Getaway looks quite off from the color on the label with the names on, its more light antique-ish color in person. Green Palms is a beautiful, moshy green shade.

Banderas bay (highlighter) and Playa (blush)

I looove playa, its soo pigmented! Its a nice soft peachy color, banderas bay is beautiful as well as cheekbones highlighter..these 2 compliment very well without overpowering each other.

Now for the attempted look...

Pardon the foundation being too light on my skin. I haven't used my BB cream for awhile now. Did I get tan already? Who knows.. I'll put this one aside for summer.eccckkk.

I didn't follow the instructions from the palette, kinda just made my own.

Getaway e/s on the first 2/3 of the lid, Green Palms on the last 1/3 outer lid, Starfish on as a browbone highlighter, and Sandbar on the crease, smoked out with Green Palms.

Playa on the cheeks. Banderas bay is not visible in the picture ugh camera ftw.

And oh did I mention.. this palette only cost $14? Soo worth it! This palette is great! Eyeshadows have pretty good pigmentations. Its not chalky at all and the shimmer e/s are not grit-y on the skin and is soft for its texture. I wished tho that Getaway has more pigmentation to and and is more closed to the shade stila claimed it to be. Other than that, this palette is a good buy.

Pamper Day

Hello guys! Since I had a rough day at work today, on top of that my boo decided to watch the giants with his boy again, I decided i need some "ME" time...I'ma pamper myself!

So I was deciding between getting either a pedicure or a facial spa..since me being indecisive, why not get both of them? :D HA! So I head to my favorite local spa/salon at BJ Grand for my zen escapade.

I wasn't able to take a photo of my facial experience since no phones aloud inside the private room but I got the deep cleansing facial..you get massaged too by your esthetician and I swore, I feel briefly asleep 2x!

I got the classic pedicure and oh my, best pedi ever. The lady polish and cleaned my nails thoroughly, and you can add sea salt on your water for only 10 bucks..makes your feet soo soft!

Mini SF Vacay Extremely Heavy Pics

Hello Everyone! Just want to share with you guys my mini vacay to SF to see my boo. As some of you might already know, me and my boo is currently in a long distance relationship. Yes, its very hard, but we're hanging there :) I am finally in the process of filing for an RN California license endorsement, so I can work there already. I'm taking steps on finally fulfilling my dreams of living in the west coast :))

I want to share some pics with you guys to sum up my 5 short but sweet days in SF.

Warning: Heavy pics. If this is not your thing,then don't go further...duh.lol.

Leaving Chicago O'hare at freakin 5am in the morning. I slept by the check-in throughout the night no joke :(

Upon arrival, Boo took me try some authentic tacos..where else but by the street! For a dollar each, you get a really good carnitas or steak taco better than taco bell!

We went by Golden Gate Park to just wander around and enjoy the beautiful sunny weather.

Funny Story: Me and my boo were walking down the Botanical gardens when we saw this squirrel. I had some ghirardhelli almond chocolate, so i gave the almond (tryna get rid of the chocolate as much as possible) to the squirrel. He looked at us with those poor,needy eyes so I gave 2 more. When we left, he started following us.. and kept following us for at least 10 minutes!!! Me and boo had to run away from him cuz he wont stop following us lol. Finally we lost him, baaad baad squirrel.

I'm a shabu freak. If theres a meal I'd like to have before I die, it will be shabu2. The Sha Bu house is the best shabu place in the bay IMO. The spicy miso broth is the Sh*tness.

No matter how many times I've been to the Fisherman's wharf, I will never get bored with it. The weather was fabulous, how can you say pass on it?

After several times convincing boo, he finally agreed to watch Spongebob 4-D ride with me bwahahahha. OMG it was so much fun!!! I was like a kid tryna catch the bubbles lol. And ewwww at my picture... lil kim status post nose job haha.

Iron Skillet Dungeness crab and shrimps and crab cioppino..tell me you won't drool on that.

After having so much issue with EXPEDIA on first day...I will put on my life I'm completely done with them. WORST TRAVEL SITE EVER. Second time they messed up my itinerary, customer service is horrible. Even though at the end they decided to give me a coupon after all that shabang, I will never booked flights/hotels with them anymore.

Worried to be hotel-less for the remainder of the trip, I'm glad I found Hilton hotel by the bayfront near the airport. It's pretty cheap considering San Francisco hotels are ridiculously expensive especially booking at the very last minute. Its a pretty neat hotel, not a big fan of hilton hotels though, but the bed is really comfy so I'm happy.

And at night we decided to eat at The Cheesecake factory on top of Macy's. View from the restaurant is spectacular at night...despite the cold weather.

On my last day, we decided to take a trip to japantown.

The Haul-age!I tried to get stuff that is not available locally from where I live. I'm soo bummed that I can't get anything from the Surf baby collection from MAC yet (even if I saw the tester already buhuhuhu) And yes, I went falsies crazy lol.

Overall I had a great time, as always. SF never disappoints me..rain or shine, I always find something to do there. The city and I just click, thats why I want to move in the bay area badly.

Lighter for Summer

Hello ladies and gent! 2 days ago I decided to go color my hair for the summer. I usually dye my hair lighter for the summer, but was contemplating whether I'd go for a drastic change or more subtle. I originally wanted to go for something reddish-orangy hair color like my boo steph once had, but I couldn't find the same color that she had used anywhere I live. I decided to go for the subtle one at the moment and possibly changed it sometime again this summer.

Of all hair colors I've used, I think L'oreal Feria works for me the most. Its not necessarily my favorite because I can't stand the ammonia smell that it almost feel like it burns my eyes, but as far as lifting the color of my dark hair, it does a pretty decent job.

I'm going for a brownish/brassy color. Picked up the L'oreal Feria in B61 Hi-lift Cool Brown. This particular hair color apparently is specifically made for people who have dark hair wanted their shade lift up. Cuz we all know if you have dark hair its harder to go lighter than someone who has a light/blond hair going darker. Got 2 boxes because I have a ridiculously thick hair.

How JBreezy dye her hair

This is what's included in the box. Everything gets mixed except for the tube, which is your deep conditioner..something you will have to used right after you dye your hair and every week at least 1-2x.

My tools. Shower cap is to cover my hair after dyeing it..since we're going lighter, heat is involve. Will "trap" the heat to help activate the ingredients responsible for lightening the shade of my hair color. Jaw clips to even out our hair once we start applying product. A to put the product in and also a containerhair dye comb.

Mix, Mix, Shake :D

Pour mixed ingredients to container. You can mix it with the comb to even it out more.

BEFORE hair color.

As you can see my hair color is already uneven lol..I haven't retouched my hair color since forever. I'm actually crossing my finger that hopefully my hair color would still come out even,despite having a lighter color by the base.

I did not washed my hair for 24 hours because I want to preserve as much natural oil in my hair to prevent the harsh ingredients damaging my hair.

Make sure you protect your hairline with some vaseline or petroleum jelly. Since I don't have one, I used the deep conditioner that came with the product. Works just fine.

How to evenly dye your hair?

(thank you Pam for the tip!)

1) Brush your hair to make sure you don't tangle any strand in the process

2)Evenly section the hair. I divide my hair into 4 sections (a higher and lower pigtails as I'd like to call it lol) using a scrunchy or the jaw clips.

3) Apply the dye starting 2 inches from your roots down the base. We don't want to dye the roots first, the product concentrate on that area a lot so if we do that right off, you're gona have a bright ass root..making the rest of the hair color uneven. Comb hair to evenly distribute the product.

4) Mold the hair into a bun shape, put shower cap on and leave it for 20 minutes. You can use saran wrap along with the shower cap to tightly cover hair.

5) Take off shower cap, apply the rest of the product to the roots, evenly distributing it.

6) Put the shower cap back, wait for another 15-20 minutes.

Wash time! :D

Don't wash your hair with shampoo yet! Just use the conditioner that came with the box. Leave the conditioner for 2 minutes and wash it off.

Now the results...

I shoulda took a pic of natural lighting but I did this at night so I'm sorry. It came out beautiful..and EVEN! I'm pleased with the result.

I hope this post is somewhat helpful to those who are planning on dyeing their hair.

Hello Everyone! I want to share with you guys my April Faves! Here are the products I've been using a lot for the past month...

1) Clinique Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Solvent- best makeup remover ever! I like the fact its solvent unlike most makeup remover that are greasy and oily. A bit pricey tho for a makeup remover- $17!

2) Cargo Classic Lip Gloss in Alexandria- got this from Linda last xmas but i didnt start using it until last month. Its sheer and non-sticky at all! Coolest thing about it? It has a time strip that tells you when you need to throw this away for sanitary reasons!

3) Benefit High Beam Highlighter- I got the trial size which I honestly prefer over the full size. I used this almost everyday and just love the pinkish iridescence of it. Perfect highlighter with your blush on top of your cheeks!

4) Lancome's L'absolu Rouge Lipstick in Blush Classique- one of the most moisturizing matte lipstick ever (matte lippie tends to be drying, especially the MAC ones. But i still love MAC lipsticks cuz of the shade variety and how it last long). Its creamy yet long lasting. This shade is a very nice dark pink. Kinda pricey but good quality. My only Lancome lipstick, I'll probably try more colors!

5) Milani's Baked Blush in Luminoso 05- love love this blush! Its a pretty peachy pink color with shimmers to it! So perfect for the summer!!

6) Wet N Wild 8 Pan eyeshadow in Petal Pusher- my favorite palette for smokey eye at the moment. I love how the colors are just soo pigmented! I'm planning on getting the other 8 pan eyeshadows as well!!! Click HERE for swatches.

7) Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes Liner in 2L- Dark brown eyeliner are really nice if you're going for that natural look, black eyeliners tend to be more harsh. This eyeliner glides so well; easily smudgeable but long lasting. It has some shimmer to it tho when you look closely, but its a pretty brownish/dark copperish color.

1) I love Hello Kitty ^_^ - I used to not like her before because I prefer badz maru over HK because everyone loves her already. But then I can't help but see all these cute HK stuff, I just can't help but love her now too lol

2) I used to dance- key word-- USED. I'm part of the dance team back in highschool. I'm not sure if I can still move around or do splits like I used to..haha. But I love being part of my dance team, everyone's awesome!

3) I'm a big 24 (show) fan- and up to this day I mourn on the fact they cancelled my show.. over fcking BONES (ok,maybe not cuz of that show..but how come that is still goin on over my 24?). really FOX?! I WANT MY JACK BAUER!!!

4) I have OCD- I think I have mentioned this before on a tag too..but yes people, I do have OCD. I was officially diagnosed with anxiety in 2006...it was definitely the lowest point of my life, but I got thru it and I'm better than ever. No psychiatric meds/therapy... just by the help of my precious boyfriend I got thru it :))

5) I can't stand Mcdonalds- I used to love mcdonalds, but fast food makes me lazy and heavy. I still love Mickey D's sweet ice tea tho.

6) I listen to rain/thunderstorm sounds when I try to put myself to sleep- I work night shifts at time and the only thing that can put me to slumber is listening to these.

7) I love playing Gears of War- I'm such a tomboy ya know, aside from Resident series, this is my other favorite game. I'm not much into the combat/Call of duty stuff... I like monsters and aliens ya know.LOL. (Can't wait for Gears of War 3!!! Please...not another Carmine!)

On the Spot: L'oreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black Felt Tip Eye liner

Hello everyone! Today I will be doing a review on the L'oreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black Felt Tip Eye liner :)

This is the second time I've used a liquid gel liner, first one is the wet n wild one which I first tried in my teen innocent years. Going to be honest, I didn't really know what I was doing back then or how to use it properly since I don't have a steady hand and can't seem to master using a liquid liner. Since then I swore that I wouldn't use any liquid liner...ever!

That idea one day changed when I saw Kate Moss Promotional Photos for Dior Addict Lipstick..damn those cat eye look! Plus, I've read a couple blog post regarding the dollywink liner that looks very promising! So yeah.. that's enough sale talk right there, you got me lol

On with the review..

First the packaging.. I like how the handle almost resembles a pen, it gives you a lot of control and precision..great for beginners like me(yes I consider myself a beginner)

The felt tip size is pretty decent for my taste (not too small nor too big). It glides well over my lid without it being too flimsy nor too firm.

Color wise, you can definitely build the intensity of the color. I wouldn't really say its intensely black with the first application, but very achievable by building it up...which I don't have a problem at all because I'd rather have something to build with that have something to lessen. The liner dries pretty quick as well.

Now for some test drive

I tested how long this will last me. My definition of long lasting is anything that can last up to 8 hours minimum just so you know :)

Reference: I have really oily lids. So the result of this test might be different from other people.

After 8 hours. I swear those are different pictures from the before photos. Quite amazing they last that long.

*Note: I started to see some fading and flakiness around about after 11 hours (should've taken photos! duh..stupid) in the inner corner of my eyes and the flakiness can be seen more in the winged part of the liner.

Now, here's the biggest drawback of all.....

It rubs off really easily :(( I used my finger, rubbed about 2x back and forth.

I've read about how other people have a problem with the flakiness, I honestly didn't have any problem with these until about 11 hours like I stated above. It could probably be because I have really oily lids lol.

Another personal CON (I say personal because it only applies to me, not sure if it does for everybody) is that I find the finish to be shiny or glossy; It's no biggie, but having a glossy eyeliner could possibly magnify how oily my lids are.

PROS:

Handle resembles pen for easy control and precision
Felt tip glides well (not too flimsy nor too firm)
Build-able color intensity
Can last up to 8 hours or more (if you can keep your hands from rubbing your eyes)
No bad reactions
Cheap- $7-8

CONS:
Easily rubs off :(
A little bit shiny/glossy.. can accentuate oily lids.

Overall, I am satisfied with this product. I think this is great for beginners. Even though this product rubs off very easily, it still can last for at least 8 hours as long as you don't rub it off. Most of the time if a product smudges or rubs off fairly easily, its a big thumbs down for me. What really amazes me about this product is the fact I have a really oily lid but someone this product managed to stay in my lids for quite a long time. So yes, its amazing.

Will repurchase- Yes.

Youngblood Lipstick in Vivid. This is a pretty HOT PINK (when i say hot i meant HAWT!) color. Color is quite intimidating for my taste, but hey..im willing to stay out of my comfort zone :) This lipstick is creamy for a matte lippie..love it!

Smashbox Double Take Lip Color in Candied Ginger. The "fatter" tip is the lip color while the "slimmer" tip is the liner. The color is soo pretty!!! The lip liner glides in smoothly..can't wait to try it!

Urban Decay Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup Foundation in Mirage. Never tried a powder from UD this will be a first time. I used to be in favor of powder foundation before since its a lot lighter on the face but I started getting into liquid foundation once you found the right one! But why not give these a try?

NOTW: Essie's In Stiches + $1 sushi night!

NAIL OF THE WEEK:

My current nail obsession is Essie nail polish in In Stiches. Its a brownish pink color, sometimes maroon under certain lighting conditions. I usually find these type of colors quite boring, but for some reason I'm loving it! Its work appropriate... I started wearing nail polishes again at work (I dont think we're suppose to due to sanitary reasons.. but I'm such a rebel so I dont care HA!) so far not getting fired or written up yet :D

Sushi Night at KoFusion

So I heard theres this place in my town that offers $1 night sushi. I'm like "where the hell have I been? living under the rock?" Me and my BF are such sushi freak, we could eat sushi everyday and not get sick of it no joke. I've been to KoFusion several times with friends, co-workers, cousins etc. before but never heard of the dollar night sushi before. So yesterday I finally found out for myself...

So anyways I took my lil sister out with me and try dem sushaaay.

Dollar sushi(s)!! They're soo yummy! We got the sampler one (10 sushi for $10) I don't remember the names but all I can say every single one of them are delightfully good!

I ordered Maine Cod which is DIVINE!!! The miso/custard sauce is just to die for. I'm glad I got this because they don't serve this everytme! Very good!

And we got more sushi lol

Ended our night with some vanilla bean creme brulee. Nomnomnom.

My friend Stephanie First introduce me to the Dior Addict Lipstick. I just love the packaging..so elegant! Its sheer yet buildable. Very moisturizing and creamy!

Both looks almost the same. Tokyo has a more pinkish undertone while Miss Dior has a more beige undertone.

This is the only thing you have to keep in mind... if you plan on buying this lipstick online, make sure you already had tried them on OR have an idea how they look like in person (see swatches from blogs,video). The shade at the sephora website is completely off to the real shade in person. I actually had to return one of them (I originally purchased the shade Millie but the shade looks soo different in person. I tried Tokyo in person so I knew already the shade outcome)

Want to make a kid happy for 2 weeks?

Hello Everyone! I just want to share something to you guys that is quite different from my usual blog post and talk about something that you (or someone you know) could help a little kid change his or her life for 2 weeks.

The Fresh Air Fund is a 2 week program where kids from New York,coming from low-income families, gets to stay with a host family for 2 weeks in the country or suburbs. This is going to be there "summer vacation" where they get to enjoy a loving host family doing a lot of great stuff that most children in a crowded,stressful, inner big city couldn't experience.

I used to go to a Catholic school where we had this "religious retreat" where we go to the country side, just experience nature on its own and appreciate everything God has given us. Its so serene and uplifting... you feel like you're taking a break from the "stresses" of the world. I kind of see this program the same way as a retreat.. a "break" from everything, and just have fun. This can definitely change a kids life, seeing another way of life from what they usually are accustomed and give them one heck of an experience.

Lush Whoosh Shower Jelly Use As a Shaving Cream? OH YEAH?!?

Yes! I bought my first shower Jelly I believe 2 years ago and the SA told me what its uses..and one of them is as a shaving cream. Now, he really didn't show me how its suppose to use as a shaving cream..but this is what I discovered.

Hopefully that was helpful! If not..well too bad,I wasted 3 minutes of your time. TEE-HEE. I kid I kid.

On The Spot: Bare Escentuals BareVitamins Prime Time (Foundation Primer)

Hello ladies! Here's another product review that I have for quite awhile now. I try to use products as long as I can until I'm very positive about how I feel and thoughts regarding them. Today, its the Bare Escentuals BareVitamins Prime Time.

Here's what it looks like

I've been looking for a good primer for awhile now for my obnoxiously oily skin. I originally wanted to buy THE OTHER Prime Time which is the Oil Control one but unfortunately for me, they're out of stock at that time. So regardless, the SA recommended to get this one instead.

This product is part of Sephora's natural products (according to Sephora,these products have high concentrations of antioxidant,minerals,botanicals, fruit extracts you name it) so that sounds pretty good. Product retails for $21..its on the pricey side,but not brutally pricey I guess.

The formula is in a clear,gel like form as shown above, quite reminds me of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer but the Smashbox one is a TAD bit just more liquidy..this one is more "thicker" but not so much.

After blending the product

What I like about it is how it glides smoothly to your skin. At first the formula feels like its quite oily,but as soon as you apply it and blend it, it feels soft and smooth. Its not sticky or tacky at all.It does absorbs fast as well. Like how the product description claims, it is non-flaky. I usually used 1 or 2 pumps and thats about it...but at times I go overboard lol. But I didnt have any problem with flaking at all..

...and THATS about it for the positives.

After an hour of using this product, I realized my skin began to oil again. Yes an HOUR only. I know my skin is stubbornly oily, but I've gotten at least over an hour with other products without having my makeup completely melt off. I noticed my foundation (especially liquid) starts to reside under my fine lines (especially under the eye area) which looks just tacky! I realized my skin got more oilier with this on than any other primer I've had use! Thats a major let down.

As far as minimizing enlarge pores as it claims to do, uhm...no,not really. It does even out skin texture at first, but like I said after an hour or so, my makeup is completely gone because I'm oily again.

Overall,I was disappointed. I really want this to work but unfortunately it didn't. Maybe I should give the other Prime Time (Oil Control) a try since its more specific on controlling oil than this one, but this one really didn't do so much of keeping the foundation on my skin intact..at least for a longer time.

PROS:

-Natural (according to Sephora)
- Glides very smoothly
- Formula not sticky or tacky
-Fast absorbing
-Not flaky

CONS:

-Doesn't last long
- Foundation resides on fine lines
- Doesn't minimize pores
- Expensive

Rating: 3/5

Will repurchased? Not this one, but I will consider the Prime Time Oil Control one.

Spring cleaning (more like summer now)

So its that time of the year where my room literally looks like im up for the show "hoarders". Spring cleaning is a b*tch. Quite honestly I haven't started cleaning my closet yet since you never know when you'll be needing your hoodie again. (trust me..living in Illinois, I have my fair share of bipolar weather. Last week was 70s and today is a gloomy 50s!pssshh)

I started cleaning my makeup stash, and boy, I got rid a lot of them. Honestly, it was quite hard because a lot of them has some sentimental value (my first ____, i used this when i was at _____) but i had to let them go. I was thinking of doing a blog sale but I lost track of how long I have several of them and its just unsanitary for me to sell them to you guys. I haven't put a lot of makeup recently as well, I've been slacking and working all the time that I really couldn't care less wtf I look at the end of the day. HA!

But summer is coming, its like my renewal session. I tend to try a lot of things (makeup,clothes,hobby etc) during the summer. So I guess I got a good reason to buy more makeup? :D

Anyways, have you guys done your spring cleaning? What did you get rid of?

So I came across this video via a friend of mine in Facebook and after watching this video there are a lot of SMHs moments after.

Ok, even if most of the things she had said might be true (how asian parents like to do things for their kids etc.)...girl, whats up with all the hate?! Are you deprived as a kid because your mom don't want to make you mac and cheese for dinner? Let's face it, we all have to rant about something whether related to work,school, person,gender,age,social status etc. But is it really necessary to be all out about it, and post your nonsensical rant on youtube. YOUTUBE girl...that's the worse way to get humiliated! I'm not saying this because I'm freakin asian, fck no. It has nothing to do with that..its the fact that she was all out stereotypical about a race, made fun of their language, ("ohhchingchonglinglongtingtong"... reallly?) and obnoxiously tell everyone that she's a self-proclaimed "polite,nice,american girl" that she is.

And of course, you will get video responses that will crack you up such as this one by David...

Listen, if you got nothing good to say, don't say it at all. Keep it to your damn self. If you feel threatened by any means by these people then go ahead say something about. But really, if you have a problem with them being loud in the library why can't you focus the subject on that matter then? Obviously you have a problem with the race itself. Unless you want your hate comments and trolls, then you are more than welcome to keep making those videos girl...

...or maybe she failed a test and every asian person in her class aced it. Oh well, if you live by LA and saw her,just gave her a hug. lol.

SF is Love

hello ladies! I miss you all. Sorry for the long no post. That's because I was in SF last this week to spend vday with my love ; )

Like I mentioned on my previous post, it was rather a last minute decision to go to the city by the bay. I have 5 days off (yes FIVE. lovely!) and I figured why just not go for a vacay then?

I just want to share my experience with you all ; ) I had a blast, despite the fact it was raining for the most part..I was surprised tho that we did get some sun on some days (especially thursday, no rain whatsover!)

WARNING: Heavy pics with major FOOD PORN ahead.If you don't like reading about traveling and food porn, stuff like that then you are more than welcome to "x" the window anytime.

On my way to DFW airport (freakin huge btw!) Our flight is empty lol.

My BF surprised me with roses when he picked me up at SFO :))

We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel (Howard Street one) Love this hotel, its so modern and chic.

Front desk person gave me a pink rose for valentines day!

Nice, big ass comfy bed. Pure fluffiness heaven.

Our bathroom has a view of the SF skyline. Sweetness it is :)

Instead of going to a fancy dinner for Valentines Day, we headed to the Shabu House instead. Seriously the best shabu place in the bay area! You gotta get the spicy miso broth, its heaven! Shabu for valentines day is great because you share food with your lovey dovey, you don't have to go for some fancy, expensive stuff ;)

Afterwards we decided to satisfy our sweet tooth by heading to Ghirardelli Square and have something something. We were surprised it was still open that late!

They have this 5-step process thingie majigs in making their chocolates.

What we got, Presidio Passion Sundae!! Daaamn.. its soooo good!!! I just have this thing for strawberries and chocolate, this is delightful! I love ghirardelli chocolates! :)))

Day 2 is on! We were just strolling around downtown, taking advantage of the weather before it pours at any moment at that time.

In the afternoon we decided to go inside the Ferry Building. The building is like built in 1890's!!!

Pomegranate Gelato! It was good..not too sweet. But I wished it was a lil bit tart-er.

Came outside the building its already "blue hour". I love the bay bridge, it has that romantic feel to it. Beautiful to walk around or jog at night. How I wish I can move to SF right away!!

Ladies and gents... for dinner we have IN n Out Burger. 2x2 with my animal fries. If krabby patty ever existed, it will taste something like this!!! I will never leave California without having In N Out that is a rule from now on.

Now, I was suppose to leave on thursday already but it started raining really hard in SF and my flight got changed 2x. I told myself if my third flight still gets delayed there is no way on earth I can make it back to Champaign since the last flight they get is at 9:40 pm and I gotta make sure my connecting flight will make before my Champaign flight leaves.

And whaddya know, it did got delayed. But in a good way of course! I got to stay for another day! Thank God I was off friday too, and didn't have to pay anything for the flight change.

We stopped by Eggettes to get light brunch. The funny looking thing on the upper right side is the "eggette", which I believe is a leftover batter of something (pancake perhaps?) that turned into this snack. Its good tho, but you gotta make sure its still hot and fresh, otherwise it wont be as good. Then we got some crispy chicken (below of pic).. delish! And yes, thats taro milk tea on the left side.

Later that night, me and boo finally decided we are going to end this trip with an exclamation mark.. by finally eating at The House of Prime Ribs.

We've always been wanting to go to this place since watching Anthony Bourdain's SF episode.Finally the day has arrived! :)

A Carnivore's DREAM come TRUE! The meat was impeccable.

DAAYUM look at that size. I got the HOPR cut, the BF got the biggest cut which is the King Henry. I love mine medium rare,tho the picture made it look like its rare but its not trust me.People who eat steak well-done are missing a lot of flavor. You gotta try medium at least!!!

It was a great experience. What really made it good is the service, everyone is very professional. Though we had to wait for a brutal 2.5 hours (if you are wearing 4 inch heels with the bar/lounge area full of people with nowhere to seat,trust me.. it is B-R-U-T-A-L) but its definitely worth it. If you plan on visiting this place, do reservations like DAYS ahead. Even people who reserved don't get seated on time.

I'm in love with San Francisco, everything is just amazing.. food, scenery, people, EVERYTHING. This is my kind of city. It has that NY meet Southern California vibe to it. I can't wait to move in there, as of now just saving money since I know how expensive it is to live in the bay area lol.

And of course I'm going to miss the Boo :((( Sigh, its soo hard being away from your love one...but its all temporary. I'll see you again Boo in 2 months. Seattle or NY perhaps? :)

Hello ladies! I just want to share with you guys what I got from the mail yesterday :)

First off, I got myself new brushes from Crown Brush! I thought its about damn time to get myself new ones since my brushes are old and most of them pretty much looks like they're about to collapse on me.

Originally I want to buy some coastal scent brushes, but I figured I already have those and want to explore more out there.. I've heard about crown brushes from some youtube guru who I can't remember and suddenly it just pop in my head like a light bulb that was telling me that I need to try them out pronto!

I ordered this on thursday morning and I got it the next day. I'm going to SF next week (woohoo!!) for valentines day with my boo. I figured I need my brushes stat!

Second thing I got from the mail was rather unexpected..its a love package from my "other boo" Steph C! :))

I love this palette!!! I actually got Rina (rae630) this palette for Christmas and I was bummed because I didnt get myself one. By the time I came back it was all gone :(( Im soo glad Stephie got me this, I really, really want this palette badly!

Best $5 Spent So Far This Year!

Hello Ladies! I went to walgreens yesterday to buy something for my sister and I just felt the urge to buy something makeup related..

I got a Wet N Wild Color Icon Palette in Petal Pusher. I've always been curious about this palette...funny because I got some of my friends these but never got even a single one for myself.

As you can see, this particular palette comes with 8 eyeshadows (the original Color Icon palettes has 6)This one was recently released and I believe it is somewhere around January this year.

Packaging is neat and simple, you have a transparent lid/cover so that its easier to look up the colors rather than those palettes that you need to open up to check for the shades.I love how each eyeshadows tells you the purpose of it, so its definitely a great palette for those who are just starting with makeup.

Here are the swatches. No name obviously for each shadows. These eyeshadows are ridiculously pigmented. Its not shocking or anything but for a drugstore eyeshadow to be this pigmented, I can tell now why a lot of people rave about these eyeshadows as they are comparable to high end products.

The consistency is very smooth, i like how its easily blend-able. And its not chalky at all!Thats a major major plus for me.

My favorite one is the second swatch from left! Pretty champagne-light-pinkish color! Love it!

Now I want to go back and get more! This is seriously the best 5 bucks ($4.99) I've spent so far this year!!! I'm soo happy with it! Get yeerrr selves this palette, I'm telling you... you are not going to regret it!

I went to Sephora couple days ago to buy my MUFE aqua eyes liner (new fave!) and the lady asked me if I want to redeem something from my beauty point perks and I said naah I'll keep saving up,until she showed me this..

The moment the Hello Kitty perfume sample, I just died. I HAVE TO GET IT!!! The packaging is just tooo freakin cute! I want to get 2 but again, you can only redeem one at a time ; ( The smell is nice, not really my favorite but Its decent. I just love the packaging so much! Cuteness overload! So use those 100-pts from your beauty insider already!

Guess what? I'm off from today (friday) till Monday!!! WOOOOOOOT!!! Omg, I'm totally going to be a bum for the rest of the weekend haha. SUPERBOWL WEEKEND BABY!!! I want to go for the Packers,but I'm secretly going for the black and yellow. I really don't care honestly. I hope its a great game tho!

"Lady Gaga is Kinda Sexy" + The Versatile Blogger Award

Hello Everyone! I finally bought my first ever MAC matte lipstick! Most of my MAC lippies are lustre and satin finishes, but ever since I got this (matte lippie) it will definitely not be the last and I want more of it!

I went to MAC couple weeks ago and asked the MUA whats a good nudy pink color that has no shimmers whatsover. She showed "Kinda Sexy", a matte lippie. Then she asked me if I like to wear lipgloss and I said well sometimes but not a big fan of it, and she took the Lady Gaga Viva La Glam lipglass (which,honestly,never knew they had one and thought it only came with the lipstick.omg, im THAT outdated already) and pair it with the lippie.

As soon as I applied the lipgloss to the lippie, omg, I just died...its probably the most gorgeous nudy pink combo i've ever seen in my life.

The lipglass looks "shocking" by itself, but if paired with kinda sexy, it neutralizes and enhance the matte lippie color,giving you a nice glossy,nudy pinkish color.

1) I love the Resident Evil series so much that I played RE 5 for the 3rd time again with my sister the past few days. (Can't wait for RE 6!)

2) I HATE waking up in the morning before going to work. Instead, as soon I get home from work (which is around 2-4 pm..depends if I get my job done on time which is almost rare) I usually sleep right away, wake up and I'll be up all night long. I just don't like the dragging- yourself-out-of-bed-then-go-to-work-in-1-hour feeling.

3) I like chewing on ice, even if everyone knows its bad for your teeth

4) The "Black & Yellow" song has been stuck in my head for weeks now.

5) I've been obsess with those Urkel/nerdy glasses lately

6) I wear these funky shape ups for work and I freakin LOVE IT. And I have the exact same model shown below.

7) I've been craving to go to a casino place and play some slot machines. I miss VEGAS, maybe its a sign I need to go back! *saves up*

Weekend with Bestie Miles

Hello ladies! Last weekend is the only weekend off I have for the rest of January..so what better way to enjoy it than with one of your bestest friends? :)

Its our birthday month so we decided at the last minute to get out of town and go somewhere else.
We love Chicago so we went there :)

We left friday afternoon and came back saturday night. Its only an overnight getaway but we made the most out of it at least. By the time she passes her NCLEX, we'll be ballin to a better,longer vacation/getaway :)

Miles have never done ice skating before, so obviously it was the highlight of her trip lol. It was my second time around and thank God all you about to see are pictures and not a video as we both suck balls lmao.

And of course, its not a true Chicago experience without trying the famous deep dish! This one the smallest one in the menu, look how freakin big that is!!!

We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and Tower. I didnt book until we were actually in Chi-town lol. It was between Hyatt Regency, Swissotel, and Sheraton. I super love Sheraton's comfy bed so that was the deciding factor.

"Everyone deserves a second chance" + Amazing Cosmetics Concealer Review

Hey ladies! I wana greet y'all a fabulous new year!!! I hope this year is better than last year, even if I look back on 2010 and can not think of any year better than last year. I miss you all and I'm sad I can't update my blog as much as I want. Ugh.

December was rather a crazy month for me work wise because a lot of my co-workers (ones who has been working on my place for years) had their vacation for the holidays and therefore the newer ones like me had to fill in for their spots. Its all good because im richer now..haha jk. heck no, i got bills and loans to pay. yuck.

Today is my only day off for the week and I decided to go out and wander around. I went to Sephora and ended up getting 3 things..

Let's start off with these 2..

I got a sample of Purity Made Simple cleanser way back then and guess what, it broke me the next day of using it -_- So what made me buy it then? A friend of mine who had struggle for acne for years had tried this product and raved it so much, and after seeing her lately for the holidays I can't help but asked her what she's been using, and she said one word to me -- "philosophy". Her skin is a lot better now than ever, so I'd love to try this one more time. Plus, I'm running out of my current cleanser so why not try a different one. I don't give chances very often, but we'll see bout this one ;)

So finally, I got the full size of Hope in A Jar which I ABSOLUTELY love. I got 2 tube samples before that lasted for awhile (and I mean awhile) and love it so much! Its on the pricey side, but at least I know I found a moisturizer that will last me for awhile.

And on my way to the check out, of course Sephora got those lil goodies that you feel like buying but not really sure if you would use it or if you really need it? haha.. one product was just calling my name and thats the Benefit High Beam highlighter. I think I like the trial size packaging more than the full size it self.

I didnt know I got over 1000 beauty insider points already! So I decided to trade in my points for this..

Unfortunately, I can only trade 1 at a time (boo!) I can choose between the Benefit package or the Pacifica set. I don't know much bout pacifica so I went for the Benefit one. I had Coralista before and for some reason find it very shimmery and sold it to a friend. But hey, like a said, "everyone deserves a second chance" maybe this time I'll find it appealing.

On the Spot: Amazing Cosmetics Concealer

Like I promised, I will do a review on this concealer. I gave it a time for me to see whether this will be a miss or a hit and I've finally come to a conclusion.

If you're a beauty junkie who likes to read blog and watch beauty gurus via youtube, you prolly have heard of this product.

What the product claims to do:

AmazingCosmetics' AmazingConcealer is the most amazing concealer available today. This highly pigmented, super-emollient, waterproof formula blends seamlessly into the skin, creating a flawless complexion that looks and feels natural. The AmazingConcealer is formulated to erase all skin imperfections: dark circles, broken capillaries, sun damage, blemishes, redness and more.

Ok first off, let me tell you how expensive this product is. Sephora offers 2 sizes, the regular size and the smaller size. The regular cost $42 (eeyup.. 42 bucks) and the smaller size (which is the one I got) is $29. A would pay $29 dollars for a full size concealer, but for a small tiny tube size? Uhm, I don't know bout that one.

The consistency of this product comes more on the runny,liquidy side rather a creamy substance which I think helps a lot from preventing the product to be caking when applied on face. A little goes a long way...this is very true, so I guess $29 bucks is not that bad for some of you since this will last you for a while, you just need a tiny dot and its good for both under eyes and might have some extra for some other areas need to be covered.

Coverage-wise, its a medium-full coverage. It did work well for me as far as covering my dark circles. What really impress me more is how it covered some under eye lines as well. NOTE: Sorry, I don't have a photo to back this up, I couldn't find my camera and this pissed the crap out of me >_< I'm not going to lie, it doesn't cover everything completely, but it helps cover most of it. What I like bout it is how it doesn't come off un-natural, like you can tell someone put something to make to cover their dark circles.Unfortunately, if you have lines under your eyes, theres a possibility that the product will "sink" in through the lines (just how you put eyeshadow on your lid and it creases) without any use of face primer. I suggest using face primer and use a finishing powder afterwards.

As far as lasting long, unfortunately this don't last more than 8 hours for me, I go home from work and look at the mirror and I see my panda eyes once again : ( Like I have the time to groom myself in my freakin busy workplace. Maybe if you're not as oily as I am this will last you a lot longer. Another thing that can be a hassle about this product is choosing the right tone. When I first got bought this product, the SA suggested the shade light golden which is ridiculously super light on me. I'm a MC40-42 for goodness sake, that won't work for me. So I went back and chose another color and the shade tan seems to suit me better. but heres the thing, indoors the lighting and all that matches perfectly with the shade i got. BUT when I go outside, I would look at my rear view mirror and can see some orange undertone to it. Why is it like that?! And no, its not every single time. Maybe its just how I applied it perhaps, but this is one of the things that left me puzzled until this point.

PROS:

-medium-full coverage
- covers dark circles and lines really good
- doesn't cake
- a little goes a long,long way
- comes off looking natural
-comes with variety of shades

CONS:

-freakin expensive
-choosing the right tone can be a hassle
-doesn't last the whole day
-could sink in through under eye lines

Overall, I think it does it job. But unfortunately, I expected more from this so therefore I'm not completely jumping off my seat telling everyone this is the best product ever. Its not bad at all, but I'm not sure if its worth your money. I'm glad tho that I tried it. But at this point, I'm kinda "bleh" if I would buy it again or not. I'd still recommend buying this, maybe it will work wonderfully for other people.

Dark Effing Circles.. What to do?!

Hello baby dollies. Ok this post was suppose to be done like 2 weeks ago, but due to some shittery thats been goin on my life, its hard to keep up with everything. I'm sorry y'all : (

I havent done monthly favorites in while,man. But anyways, just so to make this post a lil bit more productive, I've decided to include a brief review on every product I will feature on this post. Obviously I like them, hence they're part of the monthly fave, right? But I will tell ya why.

Ok enough chit-chat here we go :D

(Clockwise starting far left: Dior Addict 2 Perfume, Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream No. 31, Clean & Clear Foaming facial cleanser for sensitive skin, Sephora by OPI in Read My Pam, MUFE HD powder, UD Naked Palette)

1)Dior Addict 2 Perfume- My Burberry Summer perfume just ran out and I couldn't find the same perfume anywhere else except I guess online. But I went to Sephora mid november, found this and I instantly fell in love with the scent. I like flowery, baby-powder, light scent-ish smell. This one is more in the light flowery scent, last the whole day as well. Maybe the only con is obviously the price. But a little goes a long way, so very worth it!

2)Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream No.31- aahhhhh finally!!!! a BB CREAM THAT MATCH MY SKINTONE dead on! This was recommended by Ms. Pam of XPINKX. If you have NC40-42 shade then this is for you! I love this product, one of the things that worries me is that if this product will broke me out..fortunately it didnt! What I like bout using BB creams is that you can skip concealer, it will still totally cover up some of your imperfections! Use a setting powder and you're good to go! It last a decent amount of time for me.. I wouldn't say the whole day since I noticed by night I can see my blemishes already lol. Its not as thick as liquid foundation, and its easily blendable which is a plus. It has a light scent to it, which I don't mind but I don't know bout others. I got this item from ebay, so if you are interested let me know and I'll tell you the dealers name.

3)Clean & Clear foaming facial cleanser- this was more like an accidental fave.I didnt intend to buy it, I really want to get the Neutrogena but that time they didnt have any at walmart, so I got this instead. I'm glad it work out just fine for me. Its gentle on my skin and it removes makeup, 2 in 1!

4)Sephora by OPI in Read My Palm- OMG, I've been dying to try this color out for awhile and finally got my hands on it not too long ago! Its a lovely teal color, its more of a summer color I know but I just cant get over the color. They last decent amount of time without the base coat.

5)MUFE HD powder- I got this the same time as my Missha BB Cream which is 2 months or more already. Love it! Its a good setting powder, I can never use my MAC blot powder ever since trying this out (still love the product, but not as a setting powder) its very refine, and it really has a nice finishing touch.

6)UD Naked Palette- I officially jumped into the bandwagon. Got this months ago, I was debating whether Id get this one or the UD BOS vol III since I never owned a single BOS, but decided to get this instead because,well, I can't wait and its available finally on our local Sephora that time. I just love the colors, I'm specificially in love with Toasted and Smog. Its a great palette, with 12 neutral colors its just perfect for anyone. Great deal too. The eyeshadows have a nice texture, not grainy at all. A lil bit chalky but not bothersome. Last long with UDPP of course.

I can't believe 20 more days till Christmas!!! I hope you guys will enjoy the holidays, I will be working on Christmas Eve AND Day unfortunately, BUT that means double for me..YEEAAYUUH!!!

Yeaayuh..Finally!Time to post some pics up from my trip to San Francisco. Like I stated from my last post, I went to visit Boo in beautiful San Fran for a week. We decided at the last minute to go to Vegas as well because,well, we're cool just like that ^^ lol. I love San Francisco, I can't wait to move out..as of now, gotta make money,save up, since living in the bay is not cheap at all!

Alive and Breathing! (plus award)

Hello ladies! I know what you are all thinking, where the heck have I been?! Im sooo sorry y'all for the lack of updates. I'm soo busy with work I barely have time for myself already :( My schedule was a bit effed up because one day I'd work in the morning, then the next day I'd work graveyard then next would be evening,it drove me nuts! Finally this month, I get to work in the morning shift.I'm just glad I don't have to go back and forth shift cuz its seriously tiring.

Anyways, I'd like to share so many things with you guys but I don't know where to start Gaaahh.

I went to SF y'all again last month!!! I finally got my vacation, best SF visit so far! What makes it more special is that I get to watch SF giants play on World Series!! Now, I'm no baseball fan really until my bf got me into baseball like 3 -4months ago. Hey, at least I'm no bandwagger who just started cheering for the team once they got into playoffs, I've watch them since regular season started. I have pics to share. Will post it up soon :)

On The Spot: The Face Shop Purifying Egg White Mask + New Hairdo! (and some random babbling of course)

Hello ladies! I know, I know. I lack once again in the blogging department :( But that's because I started working already! :) Yes ladies, I got a job already woot woot! A person I know works as an assistant director of nursing in a long term care facility and she asked me if I want to work with them for a meantime (she knows I don't plan on staying for too long here in Illinois; she knows I want to move to California anytime soon) and I said why not?I got hired within 5 days from applying. Then the day after I found I got hired, my orientation started already. I'm on my 4th and last week of orientation and I'll be on my own after.

I gotta tell ya, it was overwhelming. I didn't know how hard it is to be a nurse in a long term care facility, i thought it would be much, much, easier since your routine is pretty much almost the same anyways everyday compared to the hospital. But I was completely wrong...now I know how it is and its definitely not that easy. I know I will get a hang of it one day but definitely not too soon lol. I enjoy my co-workers though, I really love them they're very supportive..with some exemption of,you know, some people who think they run the place. (yeah. ..theres always one person (or more) in your workplace where everyone just don't freakin like)

So yea, we'll see how it goes from here. Overall I'm very happy at this point, I couldn't ask for anything else in my life and I feel like God is finally putting everything together for me. Also, I am going to see the boo again by the end of october! Booked the plane tickets already, but I have to still look for a hotel to stay in SF and Vegas, restaurant to chow down, & places to check out. Yipeeee yayoooo *does the happy feet dance*

Ok, on to my review :)

The Face Shop Purifying Egg White Pack

So I got this Purifying Egg White Mask waaay back then when I visited Chicago somewhere in November 2009 (yes almost a year now!) But I didn't start using it until somewhere around late spring this year when the weather started to warm up. Let's take a look at the product.

What it claims to do:

"Deep cleansing peel-off mask eliminates impurities and accumulated oil from the pores promoting cell renewal. It firms up the skin and minimizes pores effectively. Spread an adequate amount onto cleansed face and wait for 15mins until dry, peel mask off from bottom up"

Basically its an egg white mask, only with a brand name on it. If you haven't tried an egg white mask using, well, an egg white of course then maybe you should give it a try especially if you have oily skin like moi; it firms your skin quickly causing the pores to constrict, therefore less "oil-age" and shine.

As you can see, the product looks milky and let me tell you already, this product is HELLA thick. When I say thick, I mean REALLY thick. I have to squeeze the tube with a tad more effort because the product won't easily come out of the container just like that.

And since this product is really thick and sticky, applying and blending to the skin can be such pain in the behind since it's hard to even it out all over your face.I find myself using more of the product more than I'm suppose to, even if you got a big chunk already out of the tube at the first application but the fact it won't properly blend out and that it sticks basically to your skin already, got no choice but to get more just to cover some spot that you left out..hope that makes sense.

This product has a "soap-y" kind of scent which may be too strong for some people. Personally I like it, but there were times when I just find it too strong and there were times I find it just OK. I used this product at least once a week during the summer when I'm mostly oily. Honestly,it didn't really do anything for me on the long run. Yes, it firms your skin when you put on the mask and let it sit there until the mask dries, but really, I don't see any difference after. My face feel fresh tho after I use this mask, but then I feel the same way with any other masks lol. My pores didn't shrink, my face is still oily.

Now here's my ugly bare skin. I must warn you, my skin is far from perfection. If you don't have a problem with that then proceed at your own risk..

With the product applied all over. Wait until product dries, you can tell. (All have have to do is try to smile,if you feel some resistance then its ready to be peeled)

Overall, this product just didn't work for me. Although I must say for some reason, I'm not completely disappointed. Now as far as difference between this versus the regular egg white mask... there is none. To be honest, I prefer using the fresh egg white over this because its easier to blend and that I don't have to use a whole lot! Plus, this product has alcohol in it so those of you who have dry skin might find this rather drying and irritating.

Will I purchase this again? Naah

Last but not least, I want to share with you guys my new hairdo. I got some front fringes! :)) I'm loving it! Sometimes tho not gona lie its such as hassle especially when im working, but its a new look for me and I'm diggin it!

Angel/Devil Exchange Gift with a blogger babe :)

Hello Ladies! Ms. Linda hosted an exchange gift couple weeks ago and I love doing this kind of thang so why not join? :) All that participated are people I already know so woo-hoo.

Our names got drawn via Elfster.com, as soon as we got the person we going to buy gifts for, we have to decide whether we want to be an Angel or a Devil. After that, we have to leave a mark on our gift package and let the person we picked guess whether you are an angel or a devil.

My package came yesterday. Here's what it looks like..

Red box with pink tissue on top of it! At this point I'm thinking "is she an angel or a devil?" perhaps innocent on the outside, naughty on the inside(?) :D

I'm surprised she got me 4 items from my wishlist! I'm sooo happy :))

And my secret angel is.. LINDA! Thank you so much babe, I love every single bits of it! =)))

Last but not least, some UPDATES about my life recently for those of you who care:

I've applied for a job on a long term care facility in my area couple days ago hoping to finally get a freakin job after 2 years of no work. They asked me to come back this monday for further paperworks and hopefully to hear the good news! Please God, I want to work as an RN now!
I'm planning to visit my BF in San Francisco next month! Official planning on this trip will start IF I got the job I applied for so that I know when are the dates I could be avaible :)
Perhaps a giveaway soon? My 1 year had passed already by like 2 months now lol but I'm still thinking about it.

August Hits 2010

Since I've been on isolation for the past 2 months, I really haven't worn so much makeup. I've mostly used lip products and blushes, cuz you got your stunna shades to hide them eyes :p Anyways here are my favorite products of the month of august :)

EOS Ultra moisturing Shave Cream in Pomegranate Raspberry- I love this shaving cream! You can use it wet or dry an it smells soo yummy! It comes off as a cream and its very moisturizing :)
Clinique Kohl Shaper for the Eyes in Blackened Taupe- I've been using brown eyeliner because it looks more soft and natural compared to black eyeliner. I love this eyeliner because its easy to smudge and it last pretty long.
Buxom Lips in Bunny- I bought this quite recently (bout 2 weeks ago) and since then I've been using this every single day! I'm not lipgloss fan, as a matter of fact, I almost hate lipgloss. But this one might change the way I see lipgloss forever. Its non-sticky, non-tacky (ya know, some lip glosses get tacky overtime and eventually chap your lips), and it has that plumbing/cooling sensation that last for awhile. It also has that sweet caramel scent to it which I freakin love!
Smashbox lipgloss in Footage- another fave this month.ive had this in a while, but I started reaching for it. Its non-sticky and non-tacky too. Last long as well.
Elf Studio Blush in Candid Coral-it has that washed out peachy brown color to it that I love. very subtle, and its matte which i like. and the price too, you can't beat. ($3 y'all)
Rock & Republic Contrived Pressed Blush in Shameless- aaahhh... so I finally gave into the R&R blush hype and got myself some blushes couple weeks ago (stephanie, linda, and rae.. y'all bad influences : )) I didn't get the ones I really like (Lust and Bedroom) so I just went ahead and get something for the sake of trying it (I got Shameless and Seduce) and I'm surprised that I find Shameless to be my love! Its a dark blush but it comes really nice on my skin, I actually wore it on my video up in their but obviously the camera wasn't able to pick it up. But anyhow, I took a picture of my face here it is...

it looks very subtle but i promise, it looks really nice in person. :)
